AHF Mourns Passing of Rev. Carl Bean

On September 8, AHF mourned the passing of noted AIDS activist and openly gay Black preacher Reverend Carl Bean. In 1992, AHF named its West Adams AIDS hospice in honor of Rev. Bean. AHF operated the 25-bed Carl Bean House in S. Los Angeles from 1992 to 2006, when it ceased providing hospice services thanks to lifesaving antiretroviral medications.
