AIDS Takes More Than Two Million Lives Worldwide

Although HIV drug treatment is saving lives in the U.S., more than two million people die of AIDS around the world in 1999. The global AIDS epidemic is devastating countless lives, including boys and girls who are losing their parents to AIDS. The killer disease especially impacts people living in Sub-Saharan Africa, where there is little access to expensive drug treatment.
