“AIDS Cocktail” Gives Life to People With HIV/AIDS
After years of death and suffering, scientists discover an effective drug treatment for HIV/AIDS, known as the “AIDS cocktail.” The disease is no longer a death sentence. But the treatment is expensive and not widely accessible. With AHF’s hospices filled with terminally ill men and women, the organization decides to pay for the miracle drug and give it to patients for free. With no government reimbursement, AHF nearly goes bankrupt, but saves hundreds of lives.
